Kitchen and Bath Design Trends 2016 and beyond are featured at KBIS (Kitchen and Bath Industry Show) in Las Vegas. An early flight allowed me to capture the dazzling sunrise above Mount Rainier. Just the start of a beautiful four days of ingesting all things splendid and delicious! Many of the Kitchen and Bath Design Trends are destined to become classics.
The Awards Gala was the highlight of my trip to KBIS 2016 but there were many more beautiful moments to capture. The finalists would be announced at the Gala Awards event which I was excited to attend. And the FIRST PLACE Award Winner for Small Kitchen Design is…..
The Award is actually a very pretty, very heavy crystal obelisk which was extremely difficult to carry outside the box while dancing at the posh nightclub “Marquee” at the Cosmopolitan.
Before I get to the Kitchen and Bath Design Trends 2016, I hope you don’t mind my sharing just some of the iconic Las Vegas sights I photographed. I hadn’t visited Las Vegas for more than 30 years and even though we’ve all seen lots of pictures, experiencing the magic of the incredible design and architecture is indescribable.
The KBIS 2016 show started with an opening keynote address with Jay Leno. Yes, I awoke at the crack of dawn even if I couldn’t convince any of my other partying colleagues to go. If only I could remember more of his jokes! Had a second row seat so I could see that he needed no prompter and Jay filled 45 minutes with a fast paced monologue that was funnier than I ever remember him on the Tonight Show.
And now to the Kitchen and Bath Design Trends 2016. Having registered for many seminars each day I learned lots of new ideas for entrepreneurs, interior design solutions, newest gadgets and apps, and a wealth of information in understanding and making it easy to work with the savvy tech smart consumer. I am a lover of learning and there is always more to learn. Between classes I toured the massive convention center exhibits. KBIS is only one part of the show as it is combined with IBS (International Builders Show) and the Surfaces Show. The Design and Construction Industry was represented in all arenas. It is the largest trade show in North America.
I wish I had taken more photos but here are a few that peaked my interest. Some of the Top Kitchen and Bath Design Trends for 2016 you will see becoming popular classics I believe are:
- *UN-lacquered Brass or Satin Brushed Brass fixtures
- *Matte Black finishes
- *Colored Stainless Steel and combinations of all of these
- *Touchless Technology
- *Hidden components for powering all our gadgets
- *Extensive LED lighting (some companies doing it better than others)
- *Brass. Did I mention Brass??
Of course there were many more but these are my take aways:
All in all I learned and experienced so many new concepts in design. Hope you enjoyed my small tour of Kitchen and Bath Design Trends 2016 Las Vegas Style! Click here if you would like to see more images of KBIS 2016. My next post I promise will be all about the Award Winning First Place Kitchen!
