I took my phone on my weekly walk today along the shores of Lake Washington hoping to capture the Autumn colors. Let me take you on a photo tour of the Beautiful Mount Baker neighborhood. To my surprise, very few trees have changed color as you can see here along the Boulevard. My Autumn color walking tour turned into head turning home style tour.
Mount Baker is an older gentrified neighborhood just south of downtown Seattle with views of the Lake and the Cascade Mountains.
So I meandered my way up into the side streets to see how some of the magnificent homes here have been decorated for the season. I hope you’ll enjoy my walking ” Tour de Mount Baker” which turned into not so much about the leaves but the beauty of these abodes and the variety of the architecture in a small area. I was reminded of the grand dames of the Garden District of New Orleans.
As you can see in the photos, there are a variety of architectural styles. As this is an established neighborhood, most homes have a vintage appeal and style. My walking tour ended with a cappuccino at my favorite coffee shop in Mount Baker. Maybe next week the leaves will be more colorful but in the meantime I am loving the Northwest Indian summer weather and not in a hurry to end it. I’m off to pick a pumpkin for my porch. Enjoy!
