Dramatic results are immediately apparent in this North Tacoma Master Bathroom Renovation. Originally designed creatively for the time, the homeowners knew that it was time to update and refurbish. The aged colors of mauve and burgundy quite simply did not work well anymore. Despite the once trendy glass block, the shower was small, dark, and confining.
Visiting the space, I suggested installing custom cove molding around the perimeter with up-lighting. I termed the feature “Sky-Lighting” that would amplify the interesting ceiling structure. It has created an ambience that is especially avant garde at dusk and at evening. It has created the unique distinctiveness in this Master Bathroom Renovation.
One of the major decisions was whether to keep the original bath tub. One option would be to eliminate the step up and redesign the surround. The choice to install a beautiful new freestanding tub makes a big statement in stylish design. The Master Bath renovation included enlarging the shower. The new spacious footprint and new frameless glass enclosure allows the light of the skylight to “bathe” the user in the rays of the sun most of the day. In addition to the Rain Shower, a handheld shower wand allows for easy cleaning.
Function and Comfort
Storage was of paramount importance. Recessed mirrored medicine cabinets replaced the wall mirror to contain all the toiletries. All of the finishes and plumbing fixtures were updated. Polished chrome faucets and quartz counter tops are easy to maintain. A new floating vanity with a custom made drawer to store the hair dryer with an electrical outlet inside is a convenient enhancement. A built in bench allows seating within the shower.
New tile floors and shower walls in neutral greys will make changing the color scheme easy with towels and accessories. See the before and after photos of this Master Bathroom Renovation here.
The teak accessory bench holds all the necessities to make bathing a relaxing experience. Spectacular Master Bathroom Renovation and Happy Homeowners!
